How it works

One day at a time.

Daybowl is a 14-day vegetarian plan for busy beginners who want to know what to cook and what to buy. Each day brings its own breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Today shows the meal that fits the hour.

Breakfast
Chickpea salad with diced potato, red onion and peanuts in a bowl A stack of roti on a plate
Lunch
Mixed vegetable curry with potato, carrot, peas and green beans in a bowl A stack of roti on a plate

Before Day 1

Four choices, then you cook.

There is no account to create. Setting up Daybowl is a handful of choices, and every one of them can stay simple.

  1. 01

    Choose when Day 1 begins.

Pick a start date. Start today, or give yourself a little time to shop first.

  2. 02

    One person or two.

Choose how many you are cooking for. Two is the default, and one is a tap away.

  3. 03

    Anything to avoid?

Optionally pick ingredients you already avoid. Your choices apply across recipes, the plan and shopping lists.

  4. 04

    Read the safety note.

Accept the safety note, and you are in Today.

Every day

Open. Shop. Cook. Mark it.

  1. BreakfastLunchDinner

    Open Today

Today shows the meal that fits the hour, and Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are one tap apart in the meal selector.

  2. Have it

    Shop for the day

The day’s shopping is right there on Today. Check what you already have as “Have it” and buy only the rest.

  3. Next step

Cook, one step at a time

Cook mode opens to the first instruction. Each step shows one image and one instruction, with compact navigation.

  4. DoneSkip

    Mark it Done or Skipped

Each meal can be marked Done or Skipped, or set back to Not started. Skipping is part of the plan, not a failure of it.

  5. Evening prepLocal reminder

    Tonight, if you like

Meal and evening-prep reminders are optional, local and separately controlled. Turn on either, both or neither.

The shape of a day

One dish for breakfast. Two for lunch and dinner.

The everyday default is one breakfast dish and two lunch/dinner dishes. Every meal also lists an optional addition, and optional additions are off by default. Here is Day 1.
